”I worked with Emily just as I was starting out on my recovery journey. I had recently decided to try following my meal plan after years of bordering on needing a higher level of care, and my other team members recommended a recovery coach. Emily provided valuable support when I was struggling with motivation, meal plan completion, or fear foods via text. She was kind, compassionate, and supportive while utilizing her extensive knowledge of the recovery process. Adding Emily to my team really helped me round out the support I was receiving, as virtual sessions and texting filled in the gaps between sessions with my therapist and dietitian. With Emily’s help I was able to build a solid foundation for recovery that would help me in reaching my goals for my future. Being only a text away, her support was critical for me in the early stages of recovery. I am grateful for the time I worked with Emily as well as specifically the habits her support helped me build. I would recommend her services to anyone struggling with disordered eating or an eating disorder.”

“After many decades of an eating disorder that had controlled my life, I started working with Emily. The eating disorder had been basically my only coping mechanism my entire life. The in-the-moment support Emily offers was a much greater resource than once a week for one hour.

The most important tool she’s taught me is to pause before the behavior and think it through - how it aligns with my values and recovery. She also helps me a lot with the black-and-white thinking I do.

The text support has probably been my savior. Being able to reach out at a moment’s notice and get a nonjudgmental response that challenges my urges and eating disorder thoughts.

I’m now getting to a place where I use coping skills instead of a behavior, something I’m not sure I really believed was possible.”

"Before working with Emily, recovery felt like an abstract and often impossible goal. With her guidance, I’ve been able to take concrete steps toward fully healing. Her hands-on approach, paired with her steady, in-the-moment support, has given me both the confidence and tools to finally make real progress. She meets me where I am, offering the right balance of support, flexibility, and encouragement, never making me feel like I have to follow a rigid path. Her approach is practical and adaptable—whether I need guidance through a tough moment, a new way to reframe my thoughts, or just someone to listen, she adjusts to what I need in that moment. Recovery can often feel unpredictable and isolating, but with Emily in my corner, I never feel like I have to navigate it alone. Her guidance has helped me begin to rebuild trust in both myself and my body, and I look forward to continuing our work together."

“I highly recommend Emily as an eating disorder coach because of what she brings to you as her client. She will offer understanding, compassion and empathy because she has also traveled this road and learned so much along the way. She will offer the guidance that you need, help you set goals and keep you accountable. She will be there to extend a hand when you stumble and help you to climb each step towards recovery. She is open, honest and relatable and will make a difference in your life. I really appreciate how she helped me with social eating and allowed me to move forward with being able to eat with others again opening a door in my life that has been closed for a long time.”

“I had Emily when she was a intern. I was one of her first clients. She helped me a great deal and I would recommend her services. She helped me with trigger foods. She also helped with understanding more about my body image. She is very compassionate and empathetic and would go out of her way to help. She would also let me text her my food and that also helped.”

“Working with Emily, having a recovery coach, is different than traditional therapy, which focuses on the issues that caused the disorder, while coaching consists of making goals and the steps to meet those goals.

Emily has and continues to meet me where I am. She will gently encourage me when needed to continue on my path. My goals or challenges are tailored to where I currently am, so I have successes. If I cannot meet my challenge, we restructure it. Emily is flexible in this way.

Emily is also available anytime for accountibility and support. I also relate to her path. It is very similar to mine. We relate to each other and now I have someone showing me there is a way out.

Recovery coaching is making goals to move on. She reminds me that to bring the body and the mind will follow. Action changes thoughts.”
